This study investigated agripreneurship in the Eastern African Rift, focusing on the role of volcanic soils in promoting sustainable agriculture. It assessed the impact of volcanic soils on productivity and explored barriers like financial constraints, limited technologies, and infrastructure gaps. Data from 300 agripreneurs were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression. The study found that volcanic soils significantly improved yields, while financial and infrastructure challenges hindered agripreneurship. Government support, including subsidies and training, was crucial for success. The findings highlight the need for interventions to enhance financial access, infrastructure, and government support to foster agripreneurship in the region.

The findings highlight key factors influencing agripreneurship in the Eastern African Rift. Volcanic soils uplift productivity (R² = 0.50, p = 0.014), nurturing sustainable growth (Mwangi & Njiru, 2024). Financial hurdles limit progress (R² = 0.28, p = 0.022), as Abebe et al. (2023) highlight. Modern technologies boost yields (R² = 0.35, p = 0.021), while government support strengthens success (R² = 0.42, p = 0.017), guiding agripreneurship toward a thriving future.

Keywords: Agripreneurship; Eastern African Rift; volcanic soils; sustainable agriculture; financial barriers; government support.
